Part One: Jump-Starting Your Metabolism

Eat breakfast.

It might seem counterproductive to eat if you're trying to lose weight, but studies show that eating breakfast within an hour of waking up keeps your insulin levels steadier and your LDL cholesterol levels lower.[1]

  • Eat breakfast around the same time each day. If you tend to sleep in on weekends, eat as soon as you wake up.
  • Consider including protein and high-fiber foods (eggs, peanut butter, fresh fruit and vegetables) for breakfast — they take longer to process than refined sugars and complex carbs so you'll feel full throughout the morning. Try #*Avoid making sugary cereals, waffles, pancakes, French toast, breakfast pastries or instant oatmeal the sole focus of your breakfast. If you must splurge and eat something with refined sugars, balance it with protein or fiber.
Decompress.
Research indicates that the secretion of cortisol (a hormone your body produces during times of stress) is correlated with an increase in belly fat.[2] Some strategies for combating everyday stress:
  • Enough sleep. Most adults need at least 7 hours of sleep every night to function properly.[3]
  • Set aside time to relax. Even if it's only 15 minutes on your lunch break, find time to simply close your eyes, breathe deeply, and forget your worries.
  • Keep your stressors away from your sleeping area. If possible, don't work or do anything stressful in the bedroom. That the area should be reserved for rest/relaxation, and resolve to leave your worries behind as soon as you step into that room.

Aim to take 10,000 steps a day. In one study where men reduced their daily steps from about 10,000 to less than 1,500 (without changing their diet), their visceral (belly) fat increased by 7% after just 2 weeks.[4]
  • Get a pedometer and try to increase the number of daily steps you take.
  • Take stairs instead of elevators; walk instead of driving.
  • Stand up and walk for 30 steps every 30 minutes. If you have a sedentary job, consider getting a treadmill desk.

Switch out refined grains for whole grains. In a scientific study, people who ate all whole grains (in addition to five servings of fruits and vegetables, three servings of low-fat dairy, and two servings of lean meat, fish, or poultry) lost more belly fat than another group that ate the same diet, but with all refined grains.[5]

Grains melt fat. A diet rich in whole grains changes the glucose and insulin response in your body to hasten the melting of fat, and visceral fat, that deep layer of fat, is easier for your body to burn than the subcutaneous fat under your skin (the fat that can be seen and grabbed).
Avoid white grains. For instance, eat brown wheat bread instead of over-processed white bread, and favor wild brown rice over white rice.

Drink plenty of water. Studies suggest that consistently drinking water throughout the day can lead to a more active metabolism, regardless of dieting.[6] Drinking more water also helps your body flush out waste/toxins and improves your overall health.
Aim to drink an 8-oz. glass of water 8 times per day, or 64 ounces total.
Carry a water bottle so that you can drink whenever you feel thirsty.
Know how to tell when you're sufficiently hydrated. You'll know you're drinking enough water when your urine runs almost clear. If it's still yellow, drink up.

Invest in a good lip balm.
Head down to your local drug store and look at the lip care section. Have a look at all the lip balms. There's your flavoured, unflavoured, sunscreen, aloe vera, lip balm in pots, lip balm in tubes and much more. If you want a flavoured lip balm, pick one you know you'll enjoy the taste of. Choose whatever you think is best for you.
Exfoliate your lips.
Get a face washer and dampen it. Wrap it around your index finger and gently massage over your lips. After about a minute, your lips should be softer and less flaky.
Apply your lip makeup.
Put a bit of lip balm on first. Less is more! Fold a tissue in half and press your lips on it. This will remove any excess. Next, apply clear lip gloss. Again, blot with the tissue. Don't use lipstick if you are under 15, it will look tacky!

Be soft and brilliant in the outside world.

Show off your new look on the streets

Preparation:-
1-
  •    Choose your blush type. Powder and gel blushes are good for oily skin; cream is best for normal to dry skin. Whichever type you choose, its shade should match your natural coloring, so try to pick one that reflects your colour when you blush normally

  • Select a color that will accent your existing best facial features and that won't stand out too much. Bright red may not look great on a pale person but can be terrific on a bronzed brown skin tone.
  • If you're pale, try a soft pink color or maybe even something with a little tan and pink in it.
  • Depending on your skin tone, you might need a lighter or a darker color. Dark skin needs a lighter color, whereas light skin may need a more natural color such as brown or tan.
It is suggested that to select the right color of blush, make a fist for about ten seconds, and the resulting color on your fingers is the color that you want to match.
2-Purchase some quality blush brushes. A blush brush is the best choice; never use a small, cheap brush. If you use a cheap brush, you'll have a cheap looking result. Avoid makeshift items such as cotton wool balls or powder puffs as these do not work well with the pigment in the blush.[1]
3-Provide for a well lit space when adding your blush. Consider obtaining a lighted makeup mirror which will help emphasize your features and clarify what you are doing. Prepare prior to doing your makeup by washing your face, brushing your teeth, and putting on any foundation, cover-up, and bronzer that you regularly use.
STEP 2 APPLICATION:-
Apply blush after you've put on the rest of your makeup.
Prepare. If you’re using a powder, lightly sweep a medium-sized fluffy brush through the blush and then tap it to remove any excess. If you’re using a cream or gel, dab a little on your ring finger.
Start with just a little blush — it’s easier to add more to your face than to take off too much of it.
3-Do a fish face, and apply the blush. This help you find the apple of your cheeks. Don't smile, that bring your cheeks up, and can make your blush to low [2]
4-Apply the blush to the center of the apple on one side of your face, blending the color along your cheekbone. If you’re using a cream or gel, dot the color first, then use your finger or a makeup sponge to blend it in. For the most natural look, always concentrate the color on the apples of your cheeks and blend well. And before blending, always dust off the excess to avoid excessively rosy cheeks.[3]

  • Make strokes with the brush from your cheeks (towards your nose) to the side of your face (towards your ears). Try not to make diagonal lines, as these won't appear natural but will risk being clown-like. Excess product can be blended toward the ear from the middle of the eye.[4]
  • Use a clean brush for blending.[5]
  • Brush downward at the end of blending, to allow the facial hairs to lie smoothly on your skin's surface.[6]
For a more youthful look, make sure to apply the blush on each side no lower than your nostril and no closer to your nose than your pupil.
5-If you accidentally apply too much powdered blush, cover it with translucent powder to tame the color. Excess cream can be blotted with a tissue. If you overdo it with a gel, wash it off and reapply sparingly.

6-Repeat on your other cheek, taking care to match the placement and color of the blush on both cheeks. Aim for symmetry.
7-Dust your face with a translucent powder to set your new look. The translucent powder brings inner warmth into the cheeks.[7]

TIPS

  • Make sure blush and lipstick are similar in color value. That is, even if you are going light on the lips and heavy on the cheeks or vice versa, wear corals with corals, etc.
  • Blush emphasizes the redness of broken skin and pimples, even over foundation and concealer, which further aggravate irritated skin. If you have broken out, forgo blush and all other powders and creams until your skin calms down (washing your face with cleansers and applying moisturizer morning and night). Don't sweat looking imperfect while you heal.
  • Play with the blush a little. You will see where you want to get a little more pink on your face if you do it a few times. You can always remove what doesn't work.
  • Use a large, quality brush.
  • Take red or pink lipstick that suits your skin color and use it on your cheek. Make sure it is not too oily when you apply it.

  • To create killer cheekbones for the catwalk, makeup artists often employ a three-step technique. In addition to applying blush to the cheekbone, they highlight the area above it and contour the area below. This technique is based on the laws of light and shade, and helps emphasize the facial bone structure.[8]
  • Use blush according to your skin and hair color:
    • Blond and ginger hair with olive complexion - blush of oranges tones.
    • Dark and auburn haired with fair complexion - pastel blush, called powdered.
    • Pale or grey skin - salmon, coral or pink blush.
    • Bright ginger hair or wheat blond hair and radiant complexion - peach and golden brown blush.
    • Dark and almost brown skin - plum, fuchsia or chocolate blush.[9

    Warning

    • Don't rely on make-up to make you beautiful. Remember, real beauty comes from the heart and you will always be beautiful inside and out
    • Try not to get blush in your eye(s).
    • Putting too much blush on can make you look like you are just a big red face. Everything in moderation!

Secret #1: Blending is key

Ok, well I sorta knew this, but I wasn't sure HOW TO BLEND. You use three different colors: The base, usually a very light taupe, a highlighter for the crease and a main color for the lid, but how to get them to look as if they merge into each other like the colors of a rainbow? My secret: Start light then go darker. Brush the base color to the entire eye up to the brow bone (base is the lightest color), apply the lid color (the medium color) and THEN apply the highlighter (the darkest color). Also, don't be too heavy-handed or you'll have to start over.
Extra tip: Practice makes perfect. Play with your makeup a few days before a big event.

Secret #2: Choose shadows that make the color of your eyes pop

Gone are the days when beauty experts adviseolor out (think blue shadow on blue eyes). At the same time, contrasting colors make eyes popd against blue shadow. Matching the color of your eye with a shadow actually brings the c too (think a deep jeweled blue shadow on deep brown eyes or gorgeous golds with blue eyes).

Secret #3: Never apply deep color to your browbone -- unless you're doing a cover shoot for Vogue

You don't want the drama too much shadow brings. Apply shadow up to the browbone but don't apply shadow ON the bone unless it's a neutral color.

Secret #4: Highlighter can make or break your look

When applying dark shadow to the crease of your eye, be careful to blend only on the outside edge. Get to close to the eye and you'll cause your eyes to look teeny and beady.

Secret #5: Set shadow with a great base

Primers are super hot right now because they help set makeup that stays for hours. I've found the secret to keeping shadow in place for hours is a shadow base, or primer. Almost everyone makes them but I swear by Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I apply Urban Decay Primer Potion at the beginning of the day and sweep my favorite Christian Dior shadow over it and the shadow stays on all day long with nary a smudge, even through hardcore workouts with my personal trainer. You cannot beat that.
See How to Keep Makeup in Place for Hours.

Secret #6: Shimmer is hot, but shows off wrinkles

Shimmer makes eyes really pop, but it also highlights heavy lids, lines and wrinkles. If you don't have wrinkled eyelids yet (I do and I don't care!), try this great look for shimmer: create a "nude" lid, but apply a bit of gold shimmer to the browbone. Gorgeous!

Secret #7: Smokey is great, but keep it to the lid

Making up a smokey eye? Keep color to the lid and just under the lower lashline. Don't extend color above the crease.

See How to Get Smokey Eyes.

Secret #8: You should splurge on a good eyeshadow

A great eyeshadow (like the beauty editor's all-time favorite, Dior 5-Colour Shadow Palette) will stay on your eyes all day long, while a cheap, $4 palette will have faded by the time you finish your mid-morning coffee. What's more, quality department counter eyeshadows typically have richer colors. See Should you splurge or save on eyeshadow and eyeliner? my list of favorite eyeshadows.
Just don't get suckered into a full-makeover at the cosmetics counter (see How They Trick You at the Cosmetics Counter).

Secret #8: How to pair shadow with red lips

Remember the beauty rule "Thou Shalt Not Play up the Lips AND the Mouth." If you're going for dramatic red lips (never out of fashion), cover unsightly blue lines on lids with a concealer or shadow primer and then keep eyeshadow light.

Secret #9: Make eyes brighter with white

A dot of white shadow or pencil on the inside of the eye near the tear duct will make eyes look brighter. You won't believe how eye-opening this is. It works so great, I use this trick even when doing my makeup for work.

Secret #10: Go for color

I love going to Sephora and trying out different shades on my lids just for something different. The key is finding an eyeshadow shade that flatters your eye color and skin tone. Taupe and lavender look great on all eye colors. Also consider mixing shades if you bought a color that's just too bold for you. Mixing an electric blue with taupe can turn out the most perfect color

Secret #11: Want something organic? Go for mineral makeup

My friends tend to be a health conscious bunch. They want to know what products are not tested on animals and which ones are not full of awful, potentially cancer-causing ingredients. While they are a subset of the nation as a whole, green beauty is a trend that's growing every year. If you don't want to put any unnatural products on your eyelids, I don't blame you. I will tell you that your best bet is mineral makeup. It's made up competely of natural occurring ingredients like mica.

Create balance in your makeup

Make up is an unusual art..Some women become so much expert in makeups by experimenting that they damn need a tutor. But some women have no knowledge about make up.So sometimes by applying makeup due to not keeping balance in makeup rather than looking beautiful they look awful.
So they should apply makeup in balance.Like some women only make their eyes prominent other make their lips  but this is wrong.Like sparkling red lipstick with smokey eyes makeup is wrong.
EXAMPLES OF SOME BALANCED MAKEUP:-
